Saab created BioPower technology for drivers who want it all: turbo-charged performance plus the satisfaction of helping the environment.

Our BioPower flex-fuel models run on both petrol and bioethanol, the world’s most effective eco-friendly fuel. Right now, Saab BioPower cars can reduce typical auto emissions of fossil carbon dioxide by up to 70% using E85 bioethanol (85% bioethanol, 15% petrol).

You don't have to give up any bhp to go green. In fact, bioethanol's higher octane rating combined with Saab ingenuity creates even higher engine performance:

• Bhp increases by 20%
• Torque increases 15% - 25%

No doubt about the benefit

A typical petrol consumer drives 15,000 km per year on 1,350 litres of petrol.

Over the same distance, a typical BioPower driver would use 1,755 litres of E85 bioethanol, which contains only 263 litres of petrol.

So every BioPower driver could reduce petrol usage (and harmful emissions) by 1,087 litres per year. 

Green incentives

Save the environment, or save money?
Do both with new UK biofuel benefits in 2007:

• A  2% discount (from April 2008) on annual company car tax applies to vehicles capable of using bioethanol E85
• The discount on the Vehicle Excise Duty has increased from £10 to £20 for alternatively fuelled vehicles
• The current rebate of 20 pence per litre on biofuel duty is extended to 2010 (previously 2009)
